Normalisation of the supply of raw materials, and better plant utilization

Having successfully rectified most of the remaining war damage by the time the currency reform was introduced on 21 June, the Röchling-Buderus steel works is now in a position to increase utilization of its repaired plant. Another positive factor was the currency reform, which improved the difficult raw materials procurement situation prevailing in the time of the reichsmark. With the general collapse in prices towards the end of the year, the company's initially very positive sales trend faltered. The decline in new orders and sales revenues continued until early 1950.
