Smelting approval from the American military government

After intensive efforts, approval for smelting is finally granted by the American military government in May for electric furnace I (5 tonnes). Further smelting approvals are granted in June for the open-hearth furnace (30 tonnes), in September for electric furnace II (5 tonnes), and in November for the 15-tonne electric furnace. The turnover of the Röchling-Buderus steelworks increased year-on-year by 4.2 million reichsmarks to 11.0 million reichsmarks. Profits amounted to 1.1 million reichsmarks, but were offset by accumulated losses of 3.1 million reichsmarks brought forward from the two previous years, leaving a loss of 2.0 million reichsmarks.
