The rolling mill, annealing shop and heat treatment shop come on stream
The rolling mill started in the previous year adjoining the Wetzlar works facility is commissioned together with the annealing shop and the heat treatment shop. The product range of the Buderus-Röchling steel works in Wetzlar includes electric and open-hearth steels, both in ingot form and ready rolled. Electric steels are also produced in the Dorsten works. Völklingen. The customs constraints imposed made it virtually impossible to supply Germany from Röchling's main works, necessitating expansion of the Wetzlar site so that the Buderus-Röchling steel works could supply the complete range. A mechanical workshop and a steel depot were completed in the same year.
